“We strongly condemn this violence and apologise for the harm, trauma, and distress inflicted upon you.”
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) members of Nkwanta South have issued an apology for the mistreatment of Catholic Missionaries whom they accused of stealing DRIP machines and equipment on December 11, 2024.
“We strongly condemn this violence and apologise for the harm, trauma, and distress inflicted upon you. Your selfless dedication to serving humanity and spreading the message of love and compassion deserves utmost respect and gratitude,” a statement from the Nkwanta South NDC Secretariat said on December 12, 2024.
Signed by the Constituency Secretary, Prince Succeed Fiagadzi, said preliminary investigation establishes that: 1) The assaulted men were Catholic Priests; 2) They did not steal the machines and equipment which were the matter in contention; and, 3) They were not adorned in their priestly regalia, because they were on their to the project site.
According to the statement, the leadership of the Nkwanta South NDC has visited the victims of the brutalities to ascertain their wellbeing and offered apology to them.
