December 9, 2024
The Rastafari Council of Ghana congratulates President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his recent electoral victory. This commendation comes at a crucial moment for Ghana, as Mahama’s leadership is anticipated to rejuvenate the Pan-Africanist agenda.
We urge him to continue the commendable initiatives he began during his previous administration, particularly in granting citizenship to members of the African diaspora and supporting the culture and creative industries, sectors where many Rastafari individuals thrive.
Furthermore, we commend Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his maturity and grace in conceding defeat even before the official results were announced by the Electoral Commission. His actions have significantly contributed to easing tensions within the nation during this critical transition period.
We also extend our appreciation to the people of Ghana for their remarkable patience, tolerance, and maturity throughout this electoral process. Their commitment to a peaceful and democratic election has ensured that Ghana remains a beacon of stability in a region often fraught with political unrest.
As we move forward, we look forward to collaborating with the new administration to promote unity, our rich cultural heritage, and sustainable development for all Ghanaians.
