“Let us come together. If we come together; we go for them in 2028. It is possible.”
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, for the December 7 elections, has assured the Party’s supporters and sympathisers that “our defeat does not mean it is over”.
“We have lost the battle but not the war,” he told NPP members at his residence on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
According to Dr Bawumia, the NPP gave victory to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). “Their numbers did not change from those of 2020. Our figures fell by 40 %,” he said.
He explained that he has an abiding belief in God, and God has something greater for the Party, no matter the present pain.
Dr Bawumia called for unity among members of the NPP saying “We need to come together and build the Party. It is not about the individual interest but the collective interest”
He urged members of the Party to stop blame games since such behaviour would destroy the Party and encouraged them to avoid internal conflicts and focus on working together for future success, potentially in the 2028 election.
He was optimistic about the possibility of victory if internal divisions were resolved. “Let us come together. If we come together; we go for them in 2028. It is possible,” Dr Bawumia encouraged.
