President Dr Irfaan Ali has unveiled Guyana’s first 24-hour Day and Night Care and Early Childhood Development Centre in Anna Catherina.
The Centre is seen as a game-changer for working parents juggling non-traditional hours. Designed to help families boost careers, expand incomes, and build stronger communities, the facility will cater to 50 children every eight hours, offering daytime care for newborns to age three and nighttime care for children up to 12 years old.
Beyond safe, flexible childcare, it offers early learning, developmental screenings, parenting classes, and holistic support that nurtures mental, educational, and values-based growth.
The launch, attended by Minister of Human Services Dr Vindya Persaud, government officials, and diplomats, marks the first of several such centres planned nationwide.
