Fruitfulness in Ministry
The life of the fruit bearer is totally sold out to God.
For one to be fruitful in the ministry he has to be obedient, faithful and fear the Lord. He must be humble and teachable. He must at all times be willing to die for his Lord and Master.
His will does not prevail in any matter but his Master’s. His life must be a totally willing tool in the hands of his Master and Lord. To be fruitful means to please the Lord and have His commendation: “Thou faithful and loyal servant”.
Not all will bear the same fruit but every servant of God must have the traits of a committed servant. Loyalty and faithfulness can never be compromised.
It is not a matter of co-equals. It is a relationship of a Creator and a creation; a higher Being and a lesser being: One whose words are a command and one who obeys; as such the fear of the Lord is always present.
Man is never equal to God so to work for God is a higher privilege that goes with a lot of responsibilities and great caution. The type of fruit you bear is determined by God Himself; your duty is to obey and carry out what you have been instructed to do. It is always obedience and dong what you have been told – whether you understand or not.
Like Paul, every servant of God must have no tolerance for what is not God’s. Bearing fruit therefore means loving what God loves and hating what God hates – no compromise. Fruit is the result of fruitful service to God. It comes about through dedication and total focus on the One who commissioned you but not on self-ability. There are sacrifices to be made all through the life of the servant of God.
In reality, the life of the fruit bearer is totally sold out to God. He has no life of his own; his everything belongs to God – his whole being is the Lord’s.
