Love
Sinful feelings towards another is never love.
When a man loves his neighbour genuinely from his heart he becomes Christ-like or God-like. God is love so all those who love others exhibit the nature of God. He, who does not love, does not have the attribute of God and cannot claim to be a son of God.
Love emanates from a pure heart. Love emanates from the mercy of God. And it is because God has mercy on the world that He loves the world and gave His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for the sin of the world.
Love is not lust or feeling; it is commitment. It is something that makes one like something or somebody even if he is not entitled to be liked. Love does not condone sin or wrongdoing. It is always on the path of righteousness.
Love is sharing. Whatever one has he shares with others. He gives to others without thinking that he has none for himself. It is sharing unlimited. True love gives without thinking of self. It is not 50-50 thing. It is giving and giving and giving. If God gave His only Son, it means love does not think of self but only the other person or thing.
In the economy of God love is about the interest of the other – nothing left for self. You protect and defend the other person’s interest without thinking whether your own interest will be in danger or not. It is all about the other person.
Giving His only Son shows that God will give His everything. That is love in action. It is the essence of love. It is true in action. It is genuine love at work. Any action that has a self-seeking interest is not love in heavenly terms. Love thinks of the other, not the self.
If one loves God, he exhibits the nature of love and has God’s blessing in his life. God is pleased with such a fellow and smiles at him. Fill your heart with love, and God will be with you. Where there is love, there is God. Whoever does not love does not know God.
Love hates sin and delights in righteousness and holiness. Love does not regret.
Anyone who says he loves but has sin in his heart is a liar and the truth is not in him. Anyone who loves has no iota of sin or shades of darkness in his heart. He exudes light everywhere he may be and others see it and praise God.
Sinful feelings towards another is never love. It is selfish and motivated by the devil – the liar.
