“In terms of performance, we are committed to maintaining or improving our standards.”
The Head Coach of Asante Kotoko SC, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has established rules and criteria for players to earn playing time on his team. His goal is to ensure consistency and implement a new standard within the squad.
Following the Porcupine Warriors’ 4-1 victory over Visions FC on Sunday, January 19, 2025, Ogum said that players must conform to the technical team’s standards to receive playing time. He stated, “At the moment, we are focusing on achieving balance and consistency in terms of team setup and organization. We want to ensure that we have the right balance in our attacking play and in midfield.”
Ogum’s message serves as a strong reminder to players who are currently not starting games, as well as to those who have recently joined the team. “This is a clear signal to those who are not in the starting lineup and to new signings that they need to perform at a higher level. They must work harder than those currently playing to earn their spot in the team. Anything less than that will not earn them playing time.”
His ultimate aim is to enhance team performance in the league and secure their position at the top of the standings. “In terms of performance, we are committed to maintaining or improving our standards. We aim to keep the bar where it is or raise it even higher.”
