The Commission is urging all officers to disregard such requests.
With few days to the December 7 elections, impersonators said to be requesting information from officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) are said to have set their evil agenda in motion.
According to a memo from the Deputy Chairman of Operations, Samuel Tettey, to Regional Directors of the Electoral Commission, these people “want Presiding Officers to submit or transmit results from polling stations to them.”
The memo dated November 24, 2024, said,
“Such a request is not emanating from the Commission and should be ignored.”
“Indeed, the Guidelines on Results Collation and Transmission does not cover the transmission of results from polling stations,” the Commission said, and “entreated all officers both permanent and temporary to follow the Guidelines on Reforms Collation and Transmission given to them.”
The Commission urged all officers to disregard such requests.
