Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Flagbearer, as the leader capable of driving Ghana’s economic development.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, November 17, the former President urged Ghanaians to rally behind Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid, citing his proven ability to stimulate rapid economic growth.
The former President commended Dr Bawumia’s exceptional expertise in economic management and recalled his pivotal role during his administration, where he worked closely with the Bank of Ghana to stabilize the local currency and strengthen the economy.
According to Kufuor, “In light of current global challenges, I strongly believe Ghana’s economy will experience significant progress under Bawumia’s leadership. With divine guidance, he can deliver on this promise, and I encourage all Ghanaians to support his candidacy.”
The former President also highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s contributions as part of the Bank of Ghana team led by Governor Dr. Paul Acquah, underscoring his instrumental role in revitalizing the nation’s economy during his tenure.
