In the unlikely event of Ghana going into the elections with the so-called unreliable register and the NDC winning, would the party reject the register?
The Founder and Leader of All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has advised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prioritize the training of the party’s polling station agents over focusing on the Voters Register.
In a radio interview about the NDC’s contention with the Electoral Commission (EC) over the 2024 Voters Register, he emphasised the need for the NDC to properly train its polling station agents rather than making noise about the polling register.
“My advice to the NDC is that while wasting time on the Electoral Commission (EC), it must spend more time training proper agents, educated ones, intelligent ones, and they would produce your vote”, the APC Leader said.
According to Hassan Ayariga who is number nine on the presidential ballot paper, the NDC must make sure that it gets its data right.
“Your polling agents must be properly trained so that they do not compromise their actions and behaviours at the polling stations”, he said.
Hassan Ayariga explained that since elections are won at polling stations what every party can do is to be vigilant at the polling stations.
“What I want the NDC to do is not about every day complaining about the Voters Register. What is important is that the NDC should begin to train their polling station agents to be vigilant”, he said.
The APC Leader noted, “No system in Ghana is perfect. Even the NDC and the NPP are not perfect in the compilation of their results.”
He asked the NDC if, in the unlikely event of Ghana going into the elections with the so-called unreliable register and the NDC winning, would the party reject the register.
