The M4C’s concern is borne out of the EC’s admission of reports of poor data control.
The Founder and Leader of the Movement for Change (M4C), Alan Kyerematen, is expressing concern over reports of compromised data in the 2024 Voters Register.
The M4C’s concern is borne out of the EC’s admission of reports of poor data control, and its indication that they are conducting an internal exercise to rectify the anomalies.
In a statement to the Electoral Commission (EC), Alan Kyerematen who is an Independent Candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, “notes with deep concern reports of compromised data in respect of the current Voters Register that the EC is preparing for the 2024 general elections.”
According to Alan Kyerematen, given that the integrity of the impending elections rests primarily on the functional quality of the Voters Register, measures should be put in place to ensure universal acceptability of the Voters Register.
The Movement is hopeful that “approaching the resolution of the doubts around the Voters Register in a joint manner, ensures transparency of intent that would settle any lingering issues around the Voters Register and position the country for a free, fair, transparent, and credible General Elections on December 7, 2024.”
