Students hoping to use their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for further studies or job placement are in for a shock.
According to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), “the results will be released as soon as the challenges being experienced with the post-examination activities are resolved.” Among the challenges is the breakdown of the Council’s scanners used to process the objective cards.
In a press release dated December 9, 2024, the WAEC said, “The Council is awaiting the release of additional funds out of the outstanding balance of GHC 118, 000,000.00 from the Ministry of Education for the repair of the scanner to enable the scanning process and other post-examination processes to continue smoothly.”
