Marriage (1)
Intruders in marriage are always destroyers.
The relationship between a man and a woman is a mystery. It is something difficult to understand. It is a puzzle: two people of different natures coming together to be one.
But how can two be one? Unless they agree. They must agree to be one. The hidden mystery is 1+1=1. The souls of the two merge into each other and become one. They are no longer two but one. They fuse and become one.
That is the reason that none in the union is a separate entity spiritual wise. They are one in every sense of the word. “Me, me, me”, gives way to “We, we, we”. Any interference from a third party destroys the relationship.
A wedge is put into it and the relationship is torn asunder. Hence a marriage relationship must be guarded from intruders; as infiltration by outsiders will render it liable to destruction, whatever takes place within the union must be guarded by the two entities joined together into one jealously from outsiders.
Intruders in marriage are always destroyers. They can never be helpers or up-graders; they must always be regarded as outsiders, not insiders to be friendly and tolerated. They are always marriage wreckers – those outsiders who always profess to assist the growth and development of the union.
It is only the Word of God that can assist in the sustenance of marriage, not human advice. It is God who created man and woman and instituted the marriage union. As such God has the manual for healthy marriage growth. Reliance on the Word of God leads to success in all aspects of human endeavour. Leave God out and man is heading for disaster.
No matter the physical condition of the spouses; respect, love, and commitment to each other are critical ingredients that glue the union and make it last. Remove one and the union wobbles on shaky legs. It is a life-long journey that is worth persevering for. It is full of ups and downs, joys and sadness; it is not always bread and butter, but it is worth persevering for its success.
