The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom and Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, continues an active international itinerary spanning two continents, reflecting his enduring commitment to diplomacy, business engagement, and global partnerships.
Having concluded a five-day working visit to Poland on Sunday, May 31, 2026, His Majesty is currently in Washington, United States, where he arrived on Monday, June 1, to attend to other important matters.
In a statement issued on June 2, 2026, the Manhyia Palace confirmed the transition of the Asantehene’s engagements from Europe to North America, noting: “His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, departed from Poland on Sunday, May 31 and arrived in Washington on Monday, June 1, to attend to other important matters.” His stay in the United States will precede another significant engagement in Canada, where on June 14, he is expected to begin a six-day visit in honour of the Ghana–Canada World Cup Business Summit.
During the Canadian visit, Otumfuo is expected to participate in a Breakfast Business Meeting, officiate at the opening of the Ghana Sports Village — also known as Sankofa Square — engage with the Black Stars, and lead the Ghanaian delegation in support of Ghana’s World Cup fixture against Panama at BMO Field.
The visit, which combines business, sports diplomacy, and engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora, is expected to conclude on June 20, further underscoring the Asantehene’s expanding role in strengthening international ties and promoting Ghanaian interests abroad.
