Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC faithful have honoured two of their brightest stars of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, forward Albert “Agoogo” Amoah and Congolese defender Gilbani Samba O’niel, with special awards in recognition of their outstanding debut campaigns.
Amoah, who emerged as the club’s top scorer with 12 goals, impressed fans and pundits alike with his clinical finishing, despite battling an injury that sidelined him for part of the season. His goals proved crucial in many tight contests, earning him the respect of the Red Army.
On the other end of the pitch, Samba O’niel was a rock in defence. With his composure, strength, and tactical intelligence, the Congolese international brought much-needed stability to the Kotoko backline. His all-around performances earned him the title of Overall Best Player for the season.
Both players were honoured at a brief but meaningful ceremony sponsored by Circle 008 – China, a dedicated supporter group of the Porcupine Warriors. The duo received trophies and undisclosed cash prizes in appreciation of their efforts.
In a touching twist, this marks the first season for both Amoah and Samba O’niel in Kotoko colours, making their achievements even more remarkable.
This recognition not only celebrates their contributions but is also expected to motivate the entire squad as they gear up for a fresh challenge in the CAF Confederation Cup and the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
With Amoah and Samba O’niel leading the charge, Kotoko’s pursuit of silverware is back on—with fire, focus, and flair.
