President Akufo-Addo has again endorsed Dr. Bawumia as a capable successor, citing his credibility and competence to lead Ghana into the fourth industrial revolution.
The President who at any opportunity extolls the capabilities of Dr Bawumia made the endorsement at a meeting with labour unions.
President Akufo-Addo was concluding his three-day tour of the Greater Accra region with an interactive session with organized labour, professional associations, and members of the Trades Union Congress. He expressed gratitude for their support during his presidency and highlighted his honour in serving two terms.

The President praised Ghana’s legacy of peace and stability amid regional threats and acknowledged the fruitful collaboration between organized labour and the government, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the inclusivity and fairness of government policies across all sectors and lauded progress in education reforms, targeting increased tertiary enrollment and fostering social cohesion.
Akufo-Addo noted economic achievements, including a pre-COVID growth rate of 8.3% and a fourfold GDP expansion during his tenure. He endorsed Dr Bawumia as a capable successor, citing his credibility and competence to lead Ghana into the fourth industrial revolution.
The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, represented by General Secretary Morgan Ayawine, commended the president for fostering strong ties between the government and labour unions.
