The victory marks a crucial turning point for the community.
Ejurahene, Barima Osei Hwedie II, has secured a significant victory for his community by reclaiming the historic Ejura Farms. The vast land was at risk of being permanently lost.
The Ejura Farms, previously known as American Farms, have a rich history dating back to 1958 when the Ghanaian government took over the farm. Fast forward to 2018, the lease on the land expired, and unfortunately, this led to encroachment on the farm. Some individuals even attempted to sell portions of the farm, which prompted Barima Osei Hwedie II to take action to protect the land.
Through persistent efforts and direct appeals to President Akufo-Addo, Barima Osei Hwedie successfully convinced the government to return the land to the Ejura Divisional Council.
Facilitated by the State Interest and Governance Authority, this victory marks a crucial turning point for the community.
