It has always been his dream to see the Oyoko clan go down because he always sees Oyoko as a threat to whatever his agenda is.
His first open insult and disrespect towards the Asantehene and Asanteman happened at Kumawu, the sulky behaviour he exhibited at the burial rites (doteyie) of the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi, the Kumawuhene, was simply repugnant and underscores his open hatred towards the Asantehene, and everything Asante.
During the doteyie of the late chief, all Aduana Amanhene were present at the durbar. The current Dormaahene Nana Agyeman Badu Il who is also of the Aduana Clan attended the funeral as a family obligation and as custom demands.
The Asantehene delegated the Omanhene of Manso Nkwanta (Ɔman aso nkwanta), Nana Bi Kusi Apea to represent him at Kumawu. Manso Nkwantahene had greeted the chiefs seated at the durbar grounds. However, contrary to Akan culture and norms of respect, the Dormaahene Nana Agyeman Badu and Dormaahemaa Nana Akosua Fima Dwaben crossed their legs (contrary to customs for a chief and Ohemaa to cross their legs in public), turned their faces sideways, and refused to acknowledge the presence/greetings of Nana Bi Kusi Apea, Omanhene of Manso Nkwanta who represented Otumfuo Asantehene at the funeral.
To make matters worse, one of Domaahene’s attendants (ahenkwaa) actually had his gun pointed in the direction of Nana Bi Kusi Apea and his entourage. The question is, had the Asante Amanhene present at the durbar reacted to the open disrespect by the Dormaahene what would have happened at the doteyie of the late chief? The reason for that behaviour is their defeat in the late 1680s.
The second slide shows Tepamanhene who stood up and took off his headgear acknowledging Manso Nkwantahene who at that program was representing the Asantehene as Asante tradition demands.
At the time, there was nothing like social media, so it didn’t go viral for the Gen Z of the time to see who this man’s real attitude was.
Dormaahene openly hates everything about Asante and Oyoko to the point that it is claimed that Domaahene shuts his eyes whenever he passes through Kumasi.

KWAFIE FESTIVAL IN 2019
In 2019, Dormaahene climaxed his 20th anniversary by inviting all the Aduana clan.
During the 2019 Kwafie Festival, the Asante Amanhene wo belongs to the Aduana clan were invited to Dormaa by Nana Agyeman Badu to grace the festival which which was also his 20th anniversary on the Dormaa stool.
Funny enough, during the durbar of the Kwafie festival, all the senior Aduana chiefs invited were carried in a Palanquine. Kumawuhene, Barima Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua came late yet he was privileged and empowered to be carried in a palaquin and was seated at the immediate left of the celebrant, Nana Dormaahene. His brother Akwamuhene was carried in a palanquin, and even Tepa who has no position in the Aduana hierarchy had both Tepahene and Tepahemaa carried in a palanquine at Dormaa, except Essumegya who at the time had no Omanhene. Bompata and Agogo sent delegations to the festival.
Funny enough, the paramount chiefs who are Aduana in Bono were denied to be carried in palanquins and to be seated among the celebrant, Nana Agyeman Badu.
One question to ask here is, why did he allow the Asante Aduana chiefs to be carried in a palanquin but refuse to carry the Bono Aduana chiefs in a palanquin? Sumahene, Drobohene even Dwenemhene he considered his uncle was not carried in a palanquin? Because he always saw the Asante Aduana as always superior in ranking to Bono Aduana chiefs.
It was in the presence of these Asante chiefs that he disrespected the Asantehene and Asanteman again by the narration of Kwamanhene Obiri Yeboah claiming that “Obiri Yeboah ti hyɛ na akonwa ase” and openly told lies about that Obiri Yeboah was an Asantehene. Really? In the presence of Asante Amanhene, that’s where he finds it appropriate to denigrate and make a mockery of the death of Obiri Yeboah, Osei Tutu’s uncle. At a big durbar like the Kwafie festival where he could have called for unity instead? It was as a result of these that the Aduana chiefs in Asante stayed away from his circle because they realised he was still bitter about the Asantehene, the leader.
AGYEMAN BADU’S AGENDA
Dormaa Agyeman Badu’s initial agenda was to pitch Aduanafoɔ against Ayokofoɔ and Asantehene, leveraging on the Asante Aduana chiefs to gain grounds but the Asante Aduana chiefs detected this from the onset and never entertained him, he then decided to hide behind the name Bono to penetrate his agenda. When did Agyeman Badu see himself to be Bononi?
It was this same agenda that made him establish the Aduana club just to rival Asante Kotoko nanso woboa, PANIN DE PANIN. To lessen the affection for Asante Kotoko, he founded the Aduana Club to gain support among the Aduana clan members, especially the Asante Aduana. Thinking that during a match between Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko, the Aduanas in Asante will leave Kotoko to support Aduana Stars instead. Lol.
Football, or soccer, was meant to unite the country, but Agyeman Badu was the first chief to openly introduce tribalism into Ghanaian football. Instead, he was taking advantage of Aduana stars to drive a wedge between the people, particularly purging Aduana clan members against the larger Asante union which never materialized. There was always a tense atmosphere when Kotoko played Aduana Stars at Dormaa Ahenkro as if the world was coming to an end. He declared he would never permit any player in his team to play for Asante Kotoko, and he refused to sell or transfer some of the team’s players to Asante Kotoko.
The question again is, if Dormaahene really meant good for Bono, why didn’t he name his football club Bonokyenpem Stars or a name relating to all of Bono but decided to use his clan name instead?
When the altercation ensued between Asantehene and Techimanhene some years ago, his open response was that he didn’t care because the feud was between two Ayokofoɔ, even if the two will kill themselves, he doesn’t care after all, Kumasi and Techiman are not his clan members, even denying support for Techiman. It took the wisdom of both leaders to settle their scores.
It has always been his dream to see the Oyoko clan go down because he always sees Oyoko as a threat to whatever his agenda is. And today we have some Techiman Youth and elders who are openly supporting Agyeman Badu because Asantehene has refused to give Tano-Subin lands and towns that are serving Sikadwa to his younger brother, the Techimanhene. Ɛnkyɛ nkyɛ wɔ na fe, anomaa bi su, ɔse ‘sɛ yɛhwɛ’. Daakye na mobɛhunu.
Agyeman Badu can try but will never succeed like his ancestors who failed miserably. Asante is higher and bigger than any single clan within the Akandom. That’s why the head of the union, the Asantehene does not sit on any Oyoko stool like Dormaahene who sits on a mediocre Aduana stool, Asantehene te SIKADWASO, the Golden Stool. Commanded by Komfo Anokye. The Golden Stool is higher than any single stool in the Asantedom that’s why He has the power to settle cases involving all the eight Akan clans and his judgement is final. Because our unity has made him so, the PRIMUS INTER PARES.
- It was the Asantehene who settled the Kumawu Chieftaincy dispute, Kumawu is an Aduana State, and Kumawu now has a new Omanhene, Barimah Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua.
- It was the Asantehene who settled the Essumegya Chieftaincy dispute, Essumegya is an Aduana State, and Essumegya now has a new Omanhene, Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntramah.
- It was the Asantehene who settled the Offinso Chieftaincy dispute, Offinso is an Asona State, and Offinso now has a new Omanhene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II.
- It was the Asantehene who settled the Tafo Chieftaincy dispute, Tafo is an Agona State, and peace is reigning at Tafo. It goes on and on….
Because he is ASANTEHENE, not OYOKOHENE. His powers as Asantehene go beyond his Oyoko lineage even though he is the Oyoko Piesie. As you were hiding behind the death of Essumegyahene Oduro Numapau to claim yourself as Aduana Piesie but alas, the original Aduana Piesie is here, Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama, Essumegyahene and Asanteman Benkumhene.
CONCLUSION
So yes, As for the late Kumawuhene Barimah Asumadu Sakyi’s ayikɛseɛ, all Aduana Amanhene who matter in the Aduana hierarchy are coming, but Agyeman will never be allowed to step a foot there because we don’t need any ‘uncultured’ chief to come and cross his legs at the funeral rite of well-cultured chiefs. Kumawu doesn’t need someone who has openly denigrated Asante unity, a union their own Nana Tweneboah Kodua sacrificed his life for.
And I know very soon, Essumegyahene will organize the ayikɛseɛ of his predecessor, the late Nana Oduro Numapau and Agyeman Badu will also not step foot there because of the same reason. Yɛkyini kooko a yɛnni ne mma
