The Fabulous Boys from Kumasi overcame early injury setbacks and a gruelling contest to defeat Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 on penalties in the 2025 Toyota Cup. After a goalless stalemate in regulation time, goalkeeper Mohammed Camara stole the spotlight with four crucial saves in the shootout. Despite three misses of their own, Kotoko held their nerve thanks to spot-kick conversions by Henry Ansu, Albert Amoah, and Johnson Owusu.
Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito hailed the team’s grit and composure, calling the win a major boost ahead of the new season.
