The Maldivian President, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has issued a powerful call for unity, urging Maldivians to put patriotism above political divides. Speaking in Velidhoo during his tour of South Miladhunmadulu Atoll, he made it clear that national development must not be derailed by partisan interests.
The President emphasised that the success of the Maldives’ developmental agenda hinges on unity and cooperation among elected officials, regardless of political affiliation. He encouraged Members of Parliament and local Councillors to rise above partisan differences and work collaboratively to ensure the full implementation of key national projects.
He underscored that true patriotism involves placing the nation’s welfare above individual or political interests. He noted that safeguarding the dignity, stability, and long-term prosperity of the Maldives requires a renewed commitment to shared national values and a collective vision for the future.
The President called for a reinvigoration of patriotic spirit as the foundation for meaningful development, urging leaders and citizens alike to prioritise unity, service, and national interest above all else.
