Asante Kotoko have bolstered their midfield with the signing of rising star Joseph Amoah on a four-year deal, adding youthful energy and versatility to their squad ahead of the new season.
The 21-year-old arrives from Legon Cities after a solid campaign in the Ghana Premier League, where he racked up nearly 50 league appearances since making his debut as a teenager. Known for his physicality, speed, and composure on the ball, Amoah brings both defensive grit and attacking drive to Kotoko’s engine room.
Amoah passed his medicals earlier this week and was officially unveiled by the club. The move is seen as a statement of intent from the Porcupine Warriors as they prepare for domestic and continental competitions.
“I’m absolutely elated to make this move,” Amoah told reporters. “Coming from a Legon Cities team that had a difficult season, to now join the biggest club in Ghana is a massive step in my career.”
Despite interest from other clubs, the young midfielder made it clear that Kotoko was always his top choice. “There were a few offers on the table, but for me, it was always Asante Kotoko. The ambition here is clear, and I want to be part of something special—especially with the CAF Confederation Cup on the horizon.”
Amoah’s versatility is expected to be a major asset to coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s squad. While primarily a central midfielder, he’s equally comfortable filling in as a full-back—a trait that adds depth and tactical flexibility.
With Amoah now on board, the Kotoko faithful can look forward to a stronger midfield presence and renewed hopes as the club gears up for a competitive campaign both at home and on the continental stage.
