A release from the Asanteman Council is out with details of the Burial Funeral Rites of the Late Mamponghene
According to the release, the Mampong Traditional Council with the consent of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has scheduled the burial rites of Daaswbre Osei Bonsu II, Mamponghene, for Saturday June 7 to Monday June 9, 2025.
The release stated that the last of the three days, i.e. Monday, June 9, has been designated for Otumfuo Adsantehene and Nananom of the Asanteman Council, as well as the President of the Republic and his officials to bid Asanteman Nwisiahene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, farewell.

Following the statement issued by the Nananom, an announcement has been released by the alumni of Daasebre’s alma mater, Prempeh College, where he is widely recognised for his distinguished service to the institution.

FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Lying in State of Mampong Hene, Bretuo Piesie Daasebre Osei Bonsu II
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the funeral arrangements of the esteemed Mampong Hene, Bretuo Piesie Daasebre Snr. Osei Bonsu II, Occupant of the Silver Stool of the Asante Kingdom (Butler House). The Asante Kingdom, Asante Mampong and Amanfoo Community mourn the loss of a revered leader who served with distinction from 1939 until his passing in 2025.
Lying in State Ceremony
The laying in state ceremony will be held at the Amaniampong Silver Stool Palace in Asante Mampong on the following dates and times:
– Saturday, 7th June 2025: 4:00 AM – 6:00 PM
– Sunday, 8th June 2025: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
– Monday, 9th June 2025: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Seniors are cordially invited to pay their respects to the late Mampong Hene at the appointed time (to be communicated later).

Mampong Hene Bretuo Piesie Daasebre Osei Bonsu II was a pillar of the Asante Kingdom and Prempeh College known for his wisdom, leadership and dedication to the preservation of Asante and the College’s traditions and culture. His legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
