President Akufo-Addo has emphasized the need for national unity to ensure every child, regardless of background, has access to education, skills, and opportunities to reach their potential and contribute to Ghana’s prosperity.
“Every child deserves to have the knowledge, tools, skills, and opportunities to reach their full potential,” he said.
Speaking to various professional groups in the Ashanti Region as part of his three-day tour, the President highlighted government initiatives in education that have significantly enhanced the Region’s human resource capabilities.
The diverse professional groups included representatives from journalism, industry, education, health, engineering, banking, architecture, technology, and more, reflecting a broad cross-section of society. This engagement underscored the government’s commitment to collaboration across sectors to drive national development.
The President highlighted several government initiatives in education that have significantly improved human resource capabilities in the region.
They include the completion of 524 projects, addressing overcrowding and providing safe, modern spaces for early childhood education; construction of 118 classroom blocks and 102 dormitory blocks, providing residential facilities for students; establishment of STEM schools with state-of-the-art laboratories and digital learning spaces, preparing students for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; and, the establishment of five centres, focusing on renewable energy, food processing, electrical installations, and garment tailoring, to equip students with industry-relevant skills and foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
