The Chief of Ejura Traditional Area, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has called on Ghanaians in general and residents of Ejura in particular to ensure that peace prevails before, during and after the December 7, elections.
Speaking on Friday, November 8, 2024, at a durbar to mark the Sekyerene Yam Festival of the chiefs and people of the Traditional Area, Barimah Osei Hwedie stressed the need for stakeholder collaboration to ensure that peace prevails at all times in the area.

The Ejurahene mentioned the new Divisional Police Headquarters and the Military Barracks as part of the measures to boost security in the Traditional Area.
“The increased police presence has stemmed peace,” he noted, urging his subjects to be law-abiding.
On her part, the Queen Mother, Nana Akua Tiwaa II, urged the people to be democratic in their behaviour, emphasizing that the Traditional Authority was committed to development in unity.
The Sekyerene Yam Festival is an annual celebration that marks the beginning of the yam harvest season. It is a week-long event filled with vibrant cultural activities that unite the people of Ejura in service to their community. In another development, the Ejura Traditional Council has presented a Toyota pickup, valued at 170,000 Ghana Cedis, to the Ghana Armed Forces to assist with the transport needs of the new barracks in Ejura.
