During a durbar at the Dambai College of Education—his final stop on a nationwide “Thank You Tour”—President John Dramani Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable regional development, pledging that the Oti Region will receive its fair share of national resources for infrastructure expansion.
Framing the initiative as a top national priority, he emphasised the strategic importance of the region in unlocking the economic potential of the Volta Basin and strengthening national integration.
Key announcements included the full completion of the Eastern Corridor Road, particularly the Nkwanta–Kpassa–Oti Damanko stretch, with contracts signed and contractors mobilized.
President Mahama also outlined an ambitious slate of additional road upgrades and rehabilitations, including major corridors such as Okadjakrom–Kwamekrom and Hohoe–Jasikan.
A central feature of the address was his pledge to construct a bridge over the River Oti, with funding already secured in the mid-year budget. The President stated his intention to personally inaugurate the project.
Further infrastructure planning, including technical costing and procurement processes, is underway for road projects in Kete-Krachi, Krachi Nchumuru, and Guan Districts. The address highlights a policy direction centered on inclusive infrastructure development as a catalyst for regional and national growth.
