Worship
A person whose life is not a living sacrifice in honour and adoration of God cannot be said to be worshipping God.
Worship is not just raising up your hands and singing songs. It is a total acknowledgement that God is great in our lives and deserves to be praised.
As the Creator of the universe, there is none in heaven or earth to be equated with God; as such He is the only One to be worshipped. He deserves our praise, honour and respect.
The raising up of our hands and singing of songs will only be meaningful if we empty our hearts of all filthiness and recognize that we are in the presence of the Supreme Maker of heaven and earth. Our whole being belongs to Him and He can do whatever He wishes with us. We are His handwork and we must realise that.
It is only with that recognition that we can come to the terms that God is to be given the reverence He deserves. Our whole being is an instrument of worship; hence we must not use any of our body part for an unholy or unrighteous enterprise.
Our body is the temple of God and should be used to glorify Him at all times, in all places and everywhere. The type of worship we give God indicates the level we hold Him. It also shows our relationship with Him. If He is our co-equal our worship can be anything. If He is our friend it is a matter of nonchalance but if we recoqnise that He is our Master, worship becomes a matter of a lesser being falling under the feet of a Higher Being in reverence, awe, and love. Anything short of this is not worship.
In worship, we are not there to amuse or entertain ourselves but to honour a Supreme Being who deserves to be honoured and praised. A person whose life is not a living sacrifice in honour and adoration of God cannot be said to be worshipping God.
A believer’s life is always a worshipping vessel in honour of his Maker. Worship is a total surrender and commitment to God’s glory and honour.
