“The road to glory often runs through pain—but when God is in the story, even the trials become part of the triumph.”
On April 20, 2025, John Boadu, former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was at the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Kumasi for a vibrant Easter Sunday celebration. The spirit-filled service was a powerful gathering of worship, reflection, and renewed hope, as Boadu worshipped alongside the congregation in commemoration of the resurrection of Christ.
Speaking during the service, John Boadu shared lessons from the story of Joseph, noting how, despite betrayal and hardship, Joseph rose to save his family and nation through God’s guidance.
“Joseph’s brothers believed they had ended his journey, but God had already destined him for greatness,” John Boadu noted. “The road to glory often runs through pain—but when God is in the story, even the trials become part of the triumph.”
The former NPP General Secretary urged the church to hold firm in their faith, emphasising Christ’s resurrection as a beacon of hope and triumph after hardship. The service concluded with prayers for national peace and unity.
Reflecting on the NPP’s present role in opposition, he expressed a deep faith in God’s plan. “There’s a reason why the NPP is where it is today, according to God’s wisdom,” he stated confidently. “And when the moment is right, He will hand back the responsibility of governance to us,” a sentiment that resonated with the nodding and applauding congregation.
