“I wouldn’t have become President without the support of Asanteman. You have stood by me and helped in my governance, and for that, I am deeply grateful.”
President Akufo-Addo has attributed his successful presidential journey to the unwavering support of the Ashanti Region.
During a “Thank You” tour at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, he acknowledged the Region’s significant role in his political achievements, describing it as the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“I wouldn’t have become President without the support of Asanteman. You have stood by me and helped in my governance, and for that, I am deeply grateful,” he pointed out.
The President expressed his gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the people of the Region, highlighting their immense contribution to his administration.
He was accompanied by key government and party officials, including Ashanti Regional Minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah, Minister for Roads and Highways Hon Asenso Boakye, and NPP Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako.
The Ashanti Region has consistently served as a stronghold for the ruling NPP, delivering 1,646,949 votes in the 2016 presidential election and an even higher 1,795,824 votes in the 2020 election, contributing significantly to President Akufo-Addo’s two-term victory.
