The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Running Mate for the 2024 elections, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has urged students at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming presidential election.
Addressing a mammoth gathering of students, he highlighted Dr Bawumia’s achievements in digital transformation and economic reforms, including mobile money interoperability and property addressing systems.
Dr. Prempeh commended the NPP government’s successes under President Akufo-Addo, such as Free SHS, digitization of public services, and infrastructure development. He contrasted these with the record of former President John Mahama, citing economic mismanagement, power outages, and unfulfilled promises during his tenure.
Emphasizing the role of youth in shaping Ghana’s future, Dr Prempeh encouraged students to vote for progress and innovation, portraying Dr Bawumia as the leader to propel Ghana into a modern era. The students responded enthusiastically, with many pledging their support for the NPP.
The visit was part of a broader campaign to mobilize youth backing for the NPP and spread their message of hope and transformation ahead of the December 2024 elections
