“We have taken you as our son because we know you will not disappoint us.”
The Regent of Akrofuom, Nana Anim Agyekum II, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, pledged his community’s unwavering support to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Dr. Bawumia received this endorsement during his Ashanti Regional visit, where he spoke with Akrofuom stakeholders and offered his outlook on Ghana’s future.
Nana Agyekum praised President Akufo-Addo and the NPP for the significant development projects they’ve brought to the area, including a new market for petty traders. The Chief also commended the District Chief Executive and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for their dedication to the community.
The Regent expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo and assured Dr. Bawumia of their support, calling him a “future leader.” Nana Anim Agyekum II urged Dr Bawumia to remain resolute, saying, “God has blessed you with wisdom and bravery… We have taken you as our son because we know you will not disappoint us.”
Dr. Bawumia, in turn, promised to continue the NPP’s support for the community and emphasized his commitment to accountability, stating that he will be more accountable to the people since he will have to seek re-election.
“If supported, I will be more accountable to the people, as I will have to seek re-election, unlike my opponent who will not run again,” he said.
