“The NPP-led government has delivered unparalleled infrastructural development across various sectors of the Ghanaian economy.”
Mrs Irene Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Executive Chairperson of the Sompahemaa Foundation and wife of Suame Member of Parliament, is urging women to prioritize protecting free Senior High School (SHS) education by voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
She stressed that the current NPP-led government has made unprecedented infrastructural strides, and maintaining this momentum will provide a solid base for sustained national growth.
According to her, the free SHS is a game-changer for Ghana’s future and that women are essential to its continuation. Women may contribute to the protection of this policy and increase the number of young people who have access to high-quality education by supporting the NPP.
Mrs. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu made the appeal during her visit to the Ashanti Region, where she accompanied the Second Lady of the Republic, H.E. Hajia Samira Bawumia, on a regional tour.
Hajia Samira’s presence in the Ashanti Region was to promote the vision of her husband, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
Mrs. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu emphasized that education is undeniably the foundation of all development. She explained that to address the declining prospects of the vulnerable in society, particularly women and children, it is critical for governments to implement policies and programs that drive women toward sustainable employment opportunities, as outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 for 2030.
She emphasized that the NPP-led government has delivered unparalleled infrastructural development across various sectors of the Ghanaian economy. “Sustaining this progress would lay the groundwork for future sustainable growth that benefits everyone,” she said.
A trained teacher, nurse, and philanthropist, Mrs. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s passion for helping the vulnerable is inspired by the overwhelming number of people seeking assistance from her husband, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, daily.
“The goal of empowering as many individuals as possible to climb the financial ladder should resonate with Ghanaian women,” she said.
