Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC capped off a sensational run of victories with a royal tribute, presenting both the Toyota Cup and the President’s Cup to their Life Patron, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the historic Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
The trophy presentation, held on the culturally significant Wukudae, added deeper meaning to an already momentous occasion. The Porcupine Warriors, fresh off their dual triumphs, were led by Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, flanked by club executives, coaches, and players. The mood was electric—part celebration, part homage—as the team paid respects to the Asantehene, the spiritual and cultural backbone of the club.
In a powerful symbol of unity and pride, THE HOPE BRAND (THB), Kotoko’s kit sponsor, unveiled a customised 2025/2026 home jersey, specially made for the King.
Otumfuo, visibly elated, applauded the team’s grit and resilience. He commended their outstanding performances on and off the pitch and offered each player a personal royal handshake, a gesture rich in tradition and inspiration. He urged the team to continue their pursuit of greatness while holding firmly to the values that define the Porcupine Warriors’ legacy.
The twin trophy haul not only reflects a season of dominance but also signals a new chapter of ambition under the IMC’s stewardship. And with the blessings of the Asantehene, Kotoko fans everywhere will be hoping the red tide continues to rise.
