The highly eloquent Samira Bawumia shot into the limelight in 2016 as a vigorous speaker against corruption and inefficient management of state resources; catapulting herself into a role model for many Ghanaian young women.
In 2021, being a lady of integrity, she and the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, rejected new emoluments for Article 71 office holders, including the spouses of the Vice-President and President of Ghana, and promised to refund all received monies from 2017 to date.
