The United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) was decisively founded by George Alfred Grant, alongside prominent figures such as Dr. J. B. Danquah and Edward Akufo-Addo, and it ultimately transformed into the Ghana Congress Party.
The Ghana Congress Party, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, successfully merged with several other parties to establish the powerful United Party (UP).
Baffour Osei Akoto took the initiative to establish the National Liberation Movement, which successfully merged with other factions to create the United Party (UP).
S. D. Dombo founded the Northern People’s Party to vigorously advocate for the interests of the Northern Region and, in a strategic move, merged into the United Party (UP).
