CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident in Zambia that claimed the lives of seven players from Chavuma Town Council Football Club.
In a release published on Monday, October 28, 2024, Dr Motsepe extended his and CAF’s heartfelt condolences to the players’ families, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga, and the entire Zambian nation.
Dr Motsepe stated, “It is with profound sadness that I learned of the tragic road accident that claimed lives and severely injured members of the Chavuma Town Council Football Club, who were travelling to a North Western Province Division One League match.
“I extend my personal and CAF’s deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, as well as the Football Association of Zambia. We hope and pray for the full recovery of those injured. May God comfort the families, friends, and colleagues affected and offer solace to the Zambian football community.”
The CAF President prayed for the souls of the pass-on players to find everlasting peace.
